Rosina Jean Johnson

Rosina Jean Johnson, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at the age of 67. She was born December 4, 1947 to Lewis and Neazetah (Roberts) Starr in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee and she worked in the Creek Nation Library as a Cultural Preservationalist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bo Johnson; parents, Lewis and Neazetah Starr; son, Jeffrey Lance Johnson; brothers, Josh Starr, Amos Starr, Tony Starr and Lincoln Starr and sisters, Millie Yardy and Lena Starr. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Johnson-Warkentin and husband, Keith; son, John Johnson; two sisters, Loretta Yahola-Griffin and husband, David and Pauline Proctor; one brother, Geronimo Starr; four grandchildren, Zachary Johnson, Madison Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Alexis Johnson; great grandchildren, Holley Love, Caidence Johnson and McKenzie Johnson and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Cemetery under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Robin Soweka, Charles Kelly, Alan King, Charles Hicks, David Griffin and Rovin Soweka, Jr.
