Rosalie Stills O'Neal, 84, a sweet woman of faith, and a devoted wife and mother, passed into our Father's presence in the early hours of February 14, 2022. Fittingly, she left us on the day for celebrating love, leaving behind a legacy of just that: Love.
Rosalie was born on October 2, 1937, to Clarence Eugene and Zora Bell Stills in Gilbert, Arkansas. Her family soon moved to Harrison where she lived until she left for college.
It was at Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas, that the strongest evidence of her life's legacy began. By the lily pond, she met George O'Neal. The two enjoyed their first date at a Tommy Dorsey concert where George managed to sweep Rosalie off her feet and the two then began a life together; a life full of house moves and of a rambunctious family. There was never enough money, but there was always an abundance of love.
In the 70's, Rosalie was a founding member at the Church of Christ in Glenpool, Oklahoma. There she established life-long friendships, and grew in her faith through her church family. Rosalie was undoubtedly a woman of God. Her knowledge of the Bible was keen and she was always ready to share the Lord's word. She offered much of her time to her church and community, and she held firmly to a life of virtue, modesty, and adoration for Jesus Christ.
For many years Rosalie worked in several medical offices in the Tulsa area as an office manager and bookkeeper.
Rosalie's legacies were the fastidious journals and memoirs she spent each day writing, her sensible track suits, her roast beef with biscuits and gravy, and the expanse of adored family that survives her. Rosalie always remained steadfast in her love for her family, and to the very end, that love was requited. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and grandma great and was patient and gentle to all she loved and served.
Rosalie joins her family who preceded her in death, her husband George, her parents Zora Belle and Eugene Stills.
She is survived by her younger brother Raymond Stills of Harrison, Arkansas, and her five children: Toni O'Neal of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Tami Exendine (Tim) of Owasso, Oklahoma, Butch O'Neal (Micki) of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Mike O'Neal (Lisa) of Haworth, Oklahoma, and Julie Minnick of Katy, Texas; nine grandchildren: Dana Morris, Jacqueline Scarisbrick, Matthew Lamb, Rebekkah Paden, Christopher O'Neal, Zachary Lamb, Lara Wilson, Taylor Russell, and Rachel Minnick; her thirteen great-grandchildren: Zander DesJardins, Jace Paden, Gavin DesJardins, Jack Beasley, Maya DesJardins, Camille DesJardins, Hannah Paden, Rylan Wilson, Scarlett Russell, Avery Russell, Adalia Wilson, George O'Neal, Arlo Paden, and Margot Scarisbrick; (and a small army of extended cousins, nieces, and nephews).
To honor her memory, please consider making a donation to Hope Harbor in Claremore, Oklahoma, of which Rosalie was a long-time supporter.
