Memorial services for Ronda Newman will be held 11:00am, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 E. 151st St., Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033.
Ronda became a part of my family and my family became a part of her family. When I lost my sister in December, Ronda lost her sister also. Finding a friend like that doesn't come along every day, maybe once in a lifetime if you're lucky. We would even laugh and talk about how our children would grow up and get married and we would become family.
Sitting at the hospital we talked about so many things, and we talked about God! She believed and she knew where she was going. She touched so many lives all throughout her life. She was truly God's angel! I know she was my angel! My life will never be the same. Some people come into your life, and when they leave it saddens you, but Ronda is going to leave a huge hole in my heart that will never be filled. She was the best grandma, mom, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter, and friend. We had many discussions on how much she missed her mom and James. I thank God every day for Ronda. Every time I see a hummingbird, or a beautiful sunset, I will always think of my best friend.
When she became a grandma, that was a game changer! Her life became about those grandbabies. Even when sitting at the hospital, she would have the biggest smile on her face and would just laugh while she talked to Rohan (RJ) on FaceTime. She would call me bragging and bursting with joy that she got to see her grandchildren. Those were her happiest moments! Her favorite color was the blue of James's eyes, and the purple and pink sunsets that are very rare. She was my sister! She is the best thing that ever happened to me. I've always known for years that Ronda was a very special and unique person. I love her so much. I have never met anybody like her nor will I ever have another friend like her. She was always so positive and so forgiving, never quick to judge.
She always put her family first. I asked her one day at the hospital what she wanted to watch and her reply was like an epiphany to me. She said, "I don't care, whatever you want to watch". And then I was talking about fixing her a hummingbird cake and she laughed! I had always thought it was her favorite cake. She said, "No that was James's favorite cake. I always fixed it for James". She always made sure the kids and James came first in everything she did. She lived her life or everyone around her. She lost her self in her family and sacrificed so much as a good mom does. She was the best mom and I told her that many times over the years. I know she loves hummingbirds, and I know she loves her Jason Momoa.
