Ronald Lee Johns

July 28, 1948 — March 23, 2017

Ronald Lee Johns was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to W.T. and Luda Mae (Lee) Johns on July 28, 1948. He lived in Okmulgee his entire life. It is here where he met and married Helen Cathryn Northcross on March 11, 1972. He contracted Polio right before he turned three. Although unable to stand or walk, there was nothing he couldn’t do, or at least try to do.
He loved life, and kept things lively at any events he attended. He was always funny, kind and loving to all. Ronnie loved hunting, fishing, casinos, searching for and rebuilding old cars, car shows and swap meets. His best times were spent with family as they sang and played music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rusty Johns, and son Mango Johns. Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy; his son Derrik (wife Michelle); daughter Cathryn (husband Jerrold) Dubbs; Sister Linda (husband Cliff) Dunn. Six grandchildren Dakota, Thomasena, Chris, Cheyenne and Sean Johns; Skyler, Sierra and Gavin Dubbs; Great grandchildren Mango, Marley, Maddison, Levi Johns and another expected later this year. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins remain with fond memories of Ronald. Ron considered James Anderson and Dirk Johnson as sons and thought of their children: John, Katie, Avery and Benjamin as his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April, 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Natura Community Center located at the corner of Highways 16 and 52 north of Morris.
