Roley often expressed his joy in working, stating, "I really don't want to retire. I enjoy going to work. It's a lot different working because you want to and not because you have to."
A proud member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Roley was deeply involved in his community and cultural heritage. He was a member of the Oklahoma Masonic Indian Degree Team, traveling internationally to perform Indian dances at Shriners Hospital for young patients. He was also a member of the Intertribal Indian Club of Tulsa and an avid golfer, always commenting he wasn't as good as his brother, Butch!
