Roger Wayne Ewing

April 30, 1967 — January 20, 2020

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Roger Wayne Ewing will be Friday, January 24, 2020 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service with Pastor Robert Yandell officiating.

Roger Ewing was born on April 30, 1967, and went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2020. He was the beloved husband of his wife of nearly 31 years, Cindy Ewing, and precious son of Jim and Paulette Ewing.

Roger loved Jesus with all his heart, and loved people. His greatest desire for himself was to one day see Jesus. His greatest desire for everyone whom he loved was that they know the Lord, so they could also one day see Jesus. His great love for the Lord and for people was the defining element of his life. He was immensely talented, creative, witty, and had an ornery streak that made you laugh even while you were telling him to shut up. He had a unique way with words that came to be known as "Rogerisms", which were usually words being flipped around that came out in a hilarious way, like "Roast Mallow Marsh" instead of Marshmallow Roast. He had a great sense of humor and could easily laugh at himself and anything else. He had a great way with people. He was a praise and worship leader and church youth leader for 10 years and he considered it a great privilege to get to minister to his youth kids, all of whom he loved as though they were his own. He spent many years portraying Santa Claus, which was a great delight to him because he loved to see the faces of kids light up when they got to come see Santa. He was the Santa Claus for the Tulsa Christmas Parade for two years, including their iconic 90th anniversary parade. He said it was the most fun he'd ever had, and he loved serving the people of his city in that capacity. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. He would wish that if you do not know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, that you ask Him into your heart and allow Him to give you Peace and Blessed Hope.
