Roger Dale Merchant age 51 passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Roger was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 20, 1954 to Charles Merchant and Elnora (Dale) Merchant. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1972 and received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1976. Roger was a church member of Southside Baptist Church; past president and treasurer of Sports Buggies of Tulsa; a member of Corvette Club and was an avid NASCAR fan. In 1982 he started his own construction company, MITM, and was a contractor for the Tulsa Housing Authority.
Roger Merchant is survived both parents: Charles and Elnora Merchant of Sapulpa; one son: Dale Merchant; one daughter: Lindsay Merchant both of Glenpool; one brother: Dewayne Merchant and his wife, Brenda of Mounds; and three sisters: Denora Morgan and her husband, Mike of Glenpool; Carol Brown of Tulsa and Janice Fisher of Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Peterie, Jim La May, Duane Voss, David Cannon, Cliff Richison and Kenny Kapple. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of SBOT Club.
A funeral service will be held in 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27th at Southside Baptist Church, 13032 S. Elgin, Jenks, Oklahoma with Reverend Robert De Bolt officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
