Rodney Robert Robien

April 11, 1950 — June 28, 2020

In the early morning hours on Sunday June 28, 2020, in the comfort of his home, Rodney Robert Robien journeyed to be with those who have gone before him. It was peaceful and he was surrounded by family. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, papa, great- grandfather, and a friend to many.

Rod was born on April 11, 1950 in Oshkosh, WI to Robert and Marjorie Robien. Rod grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1968, where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Michelle. They were married on a snowy evening December 7, 1969. They lived in Oshkosh until 2014, when he and Michelle retired and moved to Sand Springs, OK to be closer to their “Okie Kids.”

Rod loved to travel with family and friends. Trips to many beaches and warm weather brought him great joy. He loved to walk along the beaches, collecting shells, watching sunsets, and then ending the day with great food and spirits. He & Michelle recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a memorable trip to Niagra Falls, Canada.

Rod also loved all sports. He especially had a passion for the Green Bay Packers! As a season ticket holder, he attended many home games over the past 46 years. One of his greatest pleasures was taking someone to a home Packer game that had never been to Lambeau Field. He sure knew how to have a good time and loved to make others happy. He will be remembered by many for his love of family and friends, his master grilling skills, amazing Green Bay Packer collection, love of rock and roll music, and love for antique cars. Rodney was a friend to everyone he met. He loved animals and birds. He was very giving to others, especially those who were down on their luck. For years, he mentored many people who will never forget his love & generosity. He was one of a kind and he had the biggest heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Michelle of Sand Springs, OK. His son Christopher Robien, granddaughter Madison Robien, and great-grandson Sylas Lynch all of Oshkosh, WI. Daughter Carey (Robien) Corbin, son-in-law Jason Corbin, and grandsons Caleb and Parker Corbin all of Tulsa, OK. He will also be missed by his sweet maltise Bella Luna, and many family and friends.

A very special thank you to Dr. Scott Cole and staff from Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, Rod’s cousin Dr. Mark Robien, and Annie from A-vow Hospice. These incredible people helped him fight for more time on this earth and helped him pass with comfort and dignity.

A celebration of Rod’s life will take place in both Tulsa and Oshkosh.
