Rodney Jay Jones

Rodney Jay (RJ) Jones, 40, of Mounds, OK, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

RJ was born in Blytheville, AR on October 18, 1976 to his parents, Cindy Joy (Richardson) Minick and the late Ronnie Mark Jones.

He was a Business Partner at Mark's Heat & Air with his step father Mark Minick.

RJ loved to tinker with things, starting at the young age of 4 he took apart the family home phone. He enjoyed cooking as a child and woke up at 5:00 am one morning deciding to make scrambled eggs in a skillet with the electric mixer.

RJ enjoyed planning the family hunting and fishing trips. They went to the Holt Ranch in South Dakota to pheasant hunt and even to Canada to hunt moose and bear. RJ plotted the family’s trip so they would be able to stop at the famous steak houses along the way, he LOVED steak. RJ was a self taught guitar player who enjoyed playing rock and blues and the Allman Brothers. He was a very talented artist who liked to draw in his free time. He loved his family and spending time with them, whether it was working, hunting, or even just having lunch with his sister, Carrie. He considered teasing all his sisters a top priority.

RJ is preceded in death by his father.

RJ leaves many loving memories with his family, parents, Cindy and Mark Minick; son, Taylor Troxell; three sisters, Joanie Jones, Carrie Wasson and husband Robert and Amanda Minick; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday June 17, 2017 at Passageway Ministries, 7423 E 129th St, Bixby, OK 74008.
