Roberto Vargas Amagna

Roberto “Rob” Amagna passed away with loving family by his side on May 17, 2019, at the age of 65 years. Rob was born on November 18, 1953, in Manila, Philippines to his parents, Ami and Anita (Vargas) Amagna

He met the love of his life, Edna, and they were married on August 7, 1981, in Staten Island, New York. Rob loved being outdoors. Some of his many hobbies included precision long range Olympic style shooting (which he coached his daughter Monica), backpacking, hiking, and swimming. He was a member of Tulsa Bible Church and became involved in leading bible groups and was also actively engaged with street and prison ministry. His greatest desire is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and poring over books and articles to expand his knowledge of the Bible and be able to share with his men’s group. He enjoyed a good discussion of what it takes to live a true Christian life. From a corporate perspective, Rob was Vice President of IT and Claims at Physicians, Inc before he retired due to health reasons.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Rob leaves many loving memories with his family: wife, Edna Amagna of Tulsa; son, Mark Amagna and daughter-in-law Janielle, of Jenks; daughter, Monica Rockwell and son-in-law, Steve, of Pennsylvania; sisters, Elizabeth Atendido and Linda Gerber and their respective families, as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was unyielding in his faith and looked forward to going to his eternal home. Even in death, he wanted his funeral not to be about himself, but about his Lord and Savior and the promise of eternal life. This is his wish, and we honor it by celebrating his homecoming.

Viewing and visitation will be 5:00 PM — 8:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 20, 2019, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel with Ed Bateman officiating. Reception will immediately follow services.
