Robert Lee Satterfield

Robert Lee Harjo Satterfield, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma was born of parents; Buddy and Wanda Harjo on August 26, 1960 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Robert passed away on October 5, 2019, at the age of 59.

He attended school in Hanna, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Keota High School in the class of 1979. He then furthered his education at Eastern Oklahoma State College where he received an Associate’s degree in Physical Education. He also received a scholarship to play tennis while attending college.

Robert was a “hotshot for wild land fires as well as the Okmulgee Head Start. He would end his working career at One Fire Casino where he was employed for 10+ years as a security guard. Robert was an avid sports enthusiast. Among those sports include; tennis, softball, and anything that he could be competitive in. Roberts main hobby was oil painting portraits in which he would sell his creative designs. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing. But most importantly, Robert loved spending time with all his grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by father, Buddy Harjo, mother; Wanda Harjo, brother; Leslie Harjo, and nephew, Robert Bullet.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughter; Heather Satterfield and son, Timmy Thaggard. Stepchildren include, Alicia Mangum and husband Steve, Anthony Johnson as well as nephew, Brayden Cox. Roberts siblings include Wesley Barnett, Robbin Harjo and wife, Deanna, Sammy Harjo, Tammy Harjo, Loretta Harjo and husband Randy, Amy Sue Harjo, Stanley Harjo, and Chebon Proctor. As well as sister in-law, Cindy Harjo and nephew Dave Barnett. Grandchildren include, Alayna Johnson, Leah Johnson, Christian Johnson, Nathanial Johnson, Taryn Johnson Daylin Johnson Stephen Mangum Jr, Matalee Mangum, Maleik Mangum, and Kaisley Cox.
