Robert Gordon Donkin, 93, beloved husband, father and friend, joined his Father in the Kingdom of Heaven, June 18, 2016.
Born in 1923, Robert grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve, and as a naval officer, trained young cadets at Annapolis during World War II.
After the War, he began a distinguished career with Rockwell Manufacturing as a mechanical engineer and inventor, working on the intricate aspects of the parking meter and the centrifuge.
Rockwell Manufacturing led the Donkin family to Tulsa, but Bob spent the bulk of his time there as a partner in Arthur Young & Co. and as President and CEO of Industrial Relations Services.
Bob cherished his family as we cherished him. He was a true Mr. Fixit, and much to the delight of his grandchildren, he loved to sing and play the banjo.
He is pre-deceased in death by the love of his life Marilyn, and leaves behind three daughters, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in July 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rose Chapel at Boston Avenue Methodist Church.
