Robert Eugene King

Robert Eugene King 79, of Glenpool passed away Friday, December 3, 2004 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Mr. King was born February 2, 1925 in Bristow, OK to Marvin L. King and Martha Hall. Robert attended Bristow and Shawnee schools before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1942 during WW II at the age of 17 years old. Following his enlistment with the Navy Mr. King continued to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Army respectively. Mr. King met the love of his life Martha Louise Roberts and were married September 15, 1956 in Freedom, California. Robert retired from his long military career in 1963 and went to work as a Power Plant Engineer for N.A.S.A.
Mr. King enjoyed his retirement by fishing, spending time with family and friends at backyard barbecues, gambling, putting together jig saw puzzles, and most of all just being with his grandchildren which were his pride and joy.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Martha of the home; son, Coyn S. Armstrong, daughter; Janet L. Gaydusek, brother; Theodore King, grandchildren; Sean Armstrong, Ragina Armstrong, and Warren Gaydusek, and two great grandchildren; David Armstrong and Zacheriah Pounds.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Euchee Valley Memorial Gardens in Cushing, OK with the Reverend Brett Allen, officiating.
