Robert (Bob) Eugene DeBolt of Jenks, Oklahoma went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the age of 80. Bob was born March 1, 1932 in Ramona, Oklahoma to Clarent and Marie DeBolt. He attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Webster High School in 1949. In 1952 he was drafted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged September of 1954. Bob attended Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated in 1962. During his time at OBU he met his wife, Velda. They were united in marriage July 22, 1958 and just recently celebrated their 54th year of marriage. Bob was active in several different vocations. He began preaching when he was seventeen years old. He pastored and started many different churches primarily in the Central Oklahoma area which included Owasso, Earlsboro, Holdenville, Banner, Bowlegs, Berryhill, Glenpool and Tulsa. Bob preached many revivals in several states such as Texas, California, Florida and on a mission trip to India. Bob also worked as a carpenter for more than sixty years with thirty years working as a building inspector in Jenks and several surrounding cities. He was able to use his construction experience to help build the churches he started. He loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Clarent and Marie DeBolt, his three brothers Jim, Bill and Richard DeBolt. He is survived by his loving wife, Velda of Jenks, his six children and their spouses: Bobby and Deborah DeBolt of Sapulpa, Jerry and Lisa DeBolt of Jenks, Terry and Cheryl DeBolt of Bixby, Kevin and Monica DeBolt of Jenks, Lori and Monte Hannon of Glenpool, Lisa and Pablo Armendariz of Houston, Texas, his nine grandchildren, his sister, Lela DeBolt of Glenpool along with other family members, friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to the Baptist Children's Home and The Little Lighthouse. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Bixby, Oklahoma. Reverend Archie Rivers and Reverend Sam Burnett will officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
