Robert Carol Cox, Jr. passed this life on February 18, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK from complications of COVID.

Robert was born on October 13, 1953, in Poteau, Ok., to Robert Carol Cox, Sr. and Billie Jean (Woolsey) Heritage. He graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1971 where he played football and ran track. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology and earned a degree in Horology.

Robert loved watching OU Sooner football, spending time at the gun range, fishing, and collecting coins, arrowheads, and pottery. He loved watching anything on the History channel, especially "The Curse of Oak Island" and "Ancient Aliens". More than anything, however, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert began his career in Salt Lake City Utah, but returned to Oklahoma to be near family. Robert was a humble and private man. He truly enjoyed mentoring young people and teaching them his trade. He was loved and respected by so many.
Robert was predeceased in death by his grandparents, his father and an infant son, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Coleman) Lindahl of the home, his mother, Billie Jean (Woolsey) Heritage and husband Dan of Sallisaw, OK, a brother Gary Wayne Cox and wife Angela of Sallisaw, OK; a sister Cathy Lynn Connel and husband Scott of Tulsa OK. He is also survived by daughter Destiny Renae Banning and husband Brian of Ozark, AR; daughter Deidre Nicole Chandler and husband Tobee of Lavaca, AR; son Eric Joseph Cox and wife Kristen of Bixby, OK; and Jacob Daniel Cox of Jasper, AR; He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

At this time, the family is not planning a service, but rather a "Celebration of Life" (date and time to be determined).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital; Donate now to St. Jude and help children fight cancer - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Red Castle Gun Club.
