Services celebrating the life of Robert Allen McCarley will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. The services will be led by Gary Volz, with the Army Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders. Robert passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital, with his daughter, Jennifer, by his side. He was 83 years old.
Born August 10, 1934 in Marietta, Oklahoma to parents: Bonnie Dale (Mitchell) and Herman Allen McCarley. He was raised in Okmulgee and graduated from Okmulgee High School.
Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from his business, McCarley and Associates, after 50 years as Realtor and Broker across greater Tulsa County. He was a faithful member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church and past president of Southside Sertoma Club of Tulsa. He especially enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and soaking up the sun, while at the beach. He adored his family and truly loved the time spent with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bettye Heath McCarley; parents, Bonnie and Herman McCarley; son, Kevin Allen McCarley; siblings, William (Bill) McCarley, Margaret McCarley Gullotto and Caroline McCarley.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie McCarley of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Harris of Corpus Christi, TX, Tamara Perez of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Stephanie Sanches and husband, Thad of Shreveport, LA, Patrick Harris and wife, Brooklyn of Fountain, CO, Holly Harris of Corpus Christi, TX, Kaenen McCarley of Tulsa, OK, Morgan McCarley of Tulsa, OK and Lance Milhime of Austin, TX; great granddaughter, Gracelyn Paige Sanches and great grandson, “Baby H”, expected arrival January 2018; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Robert’s sister-in-law, Jewell McCarley and nephew, James D. McCarley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robert Allen McCarley to Alzheimer’s Association or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
