Richard Kenneth Davisson age 78 passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 in Collinsville, Oklahoma surrounded by loving family members.
Richard was born May 27, 1932 in LaPorte, Indiana the oldest child of Jack and Mildred (Cook) Davisson. He graduated from LaPorte High School with the Class of 1952 where he had a life time of friendships that were very special to him. Even though he left LaPorte over fifty years ago, his heart never left. Richard entered the United States Army in 1953, he served in Korea and was a life member of the Owasso, Oklahoma VFW Post #7180. Richard was a professional school photographer for Enterprise School Photos for over fifty years. His word and a handshake was a binding contract and his dedication to his customers allowed him great success. Richard loved to travel and over the years he traveled many miles and his favorite places were Greece and Branson - quite a contrast.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Davisson and Mildred Davisson Pitmon.
He is survived by his eldest son: Terrance Davisson and his wife, Linda of Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughter: Kimberly Henningsen of Coweta, Oklahoma; his son: Richard Kenneth Davisson II and his wife, Dion of Checotah, Oklahoma; his four grandchildren; his two great grandchildren; his sister: Nancy Gleissner and her husband, George of Owasso, Oklahoma; his brothers: DeWayne Davisson and his wife, Mary of Arlington Heights, Illinois; Raymond Pitmon and his wife, Linda of LaPorte, Indiana; William Pitmon and his wife, Betty of Bend, Oregon; his loving aunts: Naomi Overton and Betty Cook. "Uncle Dick" has been loved by all and will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins along with other family members, friends and acquaintances.
"Laugh often, live well and love much" must have been written especially for Richard.
A special "thank you" to Hospice of Owasso, Dr. Mihelich, Donna, Linda and Dr. Diane Heaton, whom he affectionately called his "Cyber Wife".
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the LaPorte High School Athletic Booster Club, 602 F Street, LaPorte, Indiana 46350.
