Richard Eugene Arnold passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home in Broken Arrow. Richard was born July 27 1951 to Wesley Arlo and Pauline (Turner) Arnold in Tulsa.
Richard graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1969. He joined the Army National Guard right after high school, then attended Welding School at Tulsa Vo Tech. Richard worked as a welder early in his career and with his brothers at Empire Homes and Slagel Shell and Tube, retiring from Air Cooled Exchangers as a welder and pipefitter.
Richard loved to play major fast pitch softball with the Indian League and love to play golf, Canyons at Black Jack Ridge in Sand Springs was his favorite golf course. He helped design the Deer Run Golf Course in Broken Arrow.
Richard was known to be a man's man with a tender heart. He had a deep and commanding voice and was very reserved, people listened when he spoke. He loved watching sports, particularly the Chicago Cubs. He loved history and his family described him to be very wise. Richard and Kerrie enjoyed 29 loving years of marriage.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Judson Sinor. He is survived by his wife, Kerrie Arnold; children: Jacob Todd Arnold; Amanda Michelle Fisher and her husband, Patrick; and Joseph Taylor Arnold; grandchildren: Devin, Paige, Tyler, Brooke and Logan; and siblings: Luke Ray Arnold and Danny Lee Arnold and his wife, Norene and many nieces and nephews. Richard was like a son to his mother-in-law, Patricia French and he was very loved by his sisters-in-law: Brenda French and Holly French Walker and his best friend, Terry Clark.
Richard was a very loving father figure to all of his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa, Ok.
