Richard Duwayne Bacon

Richard Duwayne Bacon was born on September 4, 1957 in Talihina, OK to Elmer and Linda (Morton) Bacon. With family by his side, Richard passed away in Tulsa, OK at the age of 63. Richard graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1976. He attended Bacone College in Muskogee, OK and pursued his welding certification at Maricopa Skill Center in Phoenix, AZ. Richard was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He could tell you many stories over a cup of coffee and loved to give to others. He was a simple man who could socialize with just about anyone. The only thing he loved more than OU sooners was making memories with his family.

Survivors Include: his children, Eric Bacon of Phoenix, AZ, Barry Bacon of Phoenix, AZ, Brandon Bacon of Phoenix, AZ, Taryn Atkins and husband Josiah of Lawrence, KS, Bryce Bacon of Okmulgee, OK, and Brent Bacon of Okmulgee, OK, his stepchildren, Sarah Locust of Sapulpa, OK, Shannon Locust of Sapulpa, OK, Jess Locust of Okmulgee, OK and Rachael Locust of Glenpool, OK as well as siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard Bacon, his parents, Elmer and Linda (Morton) Bacon, his brothers Timothy Bacon and Greg Bacon, and his brother in law, Joe Lucky.

A public visitation will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Chapel followed by a wake service at 5:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Morton Family Cemetery, Monday, 1:00 PM, December 28, 2020, Geary, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Minister Josiah Atkins
