Richard Dewayne Bailey of Morris, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 65 years. Born on March 28, 1959, in Myrtle Point, Oregon, Richard was the beloved son of Ed and Sharon Bailey.
Richard's life journey began in the town of Myrtle Point, Oregon, where he spent his early years. His family relocated to Morris, Oklahoma in 1972. It was in Morris that he completed his education, graduating from Morris High School in 1977.
On June 26, 1981 Richard married Jo Linda Crowl in the same church where they first met. Together, they raised a daughter, Holly, who brought immense joy to their lives when she was born in 1987.
Richard dedicated much of his career to being a machinist in Okmulgee, where he found passion in working on race cars and crafting engines for them. His love for the sport extended beyond the garage, as he eagerly watched races and eagerly awaited the next opportunity to rebuild engines. In his leisure time, Richard found solace in fishing and camping, cherishing moments spent by the water with his family.
A man of unwavering faith, Richard was deeply committed to his church and his family. He found comfort and joy in music, particularly in the melodies of southern gospel, and shared his musical talents by playing the mandolin and singing alongside his mother and friends.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 43 years, Jo Linda, his daughter Holly Deubel, her husband Andrew, and their two daughters, his pride and joy Abigail and Olivia. He is also survived by his brothers Roy Bailey and wife Renee, and Russell Bailey and wife Trisha, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Sharon Bailey, his brother Ralph Bailey, and his son Rudy Dewayne in 1982.
