Richard (that's Dick!) Anderson
Dick, was born in Kansas on June 16th 1944 to Bim and Bee Anderson. The first part of his childhood was in Wichita KS where his father was chief of police. Due to a long story, they moved to Tulsa OK in the 50s where Dick went on to graduate from Will Rogers HS. He and his family attended Will Rogers Methodist Church where he had a friend named Vesta who set him up on a date with Earla. They married in 1964 and had their only child, Barry in 1965.
Dick had a long and storied early business carrier, but he was most proud of his work with AGC, where he worked tirelessly for the Oklahoma construction business up until his retirement. Dick was plagued with numerous muscular-skeletal issues, back, hip, knees, etc. but he never let that slow him. The only thing that would drag him away from work was his grandchildren, Gabby and Allison which he loved dearly. As his wife, Earla, began to become impacted by her disease, he dedicated himself to taking care of her, which he did up until her peaceful passing. He then passed just 8 days later to be with her.
He is preceded by his wife, Earla, his parents Ray (Bim) & Bernice (Bee) Anderson, and brother (Daniel). He is survived by Barry (son), Susan (daughter-in-law), and Gabrielle & Allison (grandchildren).
Earla Sue (Blevins) Anderson
Earla, was born in Oklahoma on July 31st, 1942 to Virgie and Earl Blevins. She grew up in Bristow, OK. After graduating, she went to nursing school to become an RN. They were married in 1964, and had their only child, Barry in 1965.
Earla went on to work in the field of nursing for decades. First working for various pediatric MDs and then finishing her career with the Tulsa Health department focused on childhood immunization. She had a great passion for helping children and worked there until her retirement. Later in life, her grandchildren, Gabby and Allison were the light in her life. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2016 which is what ultimately took her life. She was cared for in their home by Dick until she passed. She is preceded by her parents, Virgie and Earl Blevins, her brothers, Burris & Bill. She is survived by Barry (son), Susan (daughter-in-law), and Gabrielle & Allison (grandchildren).
