Richard Allen Winn, Sr., a resident of Henryetta, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 51. Richard was born on November 30, 1959 to Neil Ray and Annetta (Wheat) Winn in San Jose, California. He grew up in California and moved to the Weleetka area in his early teens with his family. Richard attended Weleetka Public Schools. He was employed for a number of years, primarily as a drywall installer. He married Carmelita Michelle Smith on July 2, 1993 in Henryetta. He loved to fish, enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Henryetta. He was preceded in death by his grandparents including Ruby Baker, Perry and Bertha Wheat, Bonnie and Lilly Winn and several aunts and uncles. Richard is survived by his wife Michelle Winn of Henryetta; sons, Lance Winn of Henryetta and Allen Winn of Hoffman; son, Richard Winn, Jr. of Holdenville; daughters, April Winn of Oklahoma City, Ashley Winn of Shawnee; two sisters, Debbie Suiter and husband Kenny of Morris and Terri Winn of Weleetka; two brothers, Doug Winn of Salem and Calvin Winn and wife Melinda of Weleetka; his father and mother, Neil R. Winn and Annetta Winn of Weleetka; six grandchildren, Marcus Henderson, James Davis, Axle Winn, Madison Brown, Thomas Winn and Madilynn Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta with Rev. Lowell Churchill officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Brandon Winn, Jonathan Winn, Gary Hubbs, Darrell Summers, Johnny Barnes and Rusty Bobo. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Friends may send their condolences to www.shurdenjackson.com
