Rhonda Kay Hopper, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 56. She was born September 10, 1958 to Ronald and Mary Ellen (Crain) Hanson in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee and was known as Mrs. Rhonda in the church’s Preschool program. Rhonda sold Avon for many years and she enjoyed taking care of others but her biggest joy was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Mary Ellen Hanson. Survivors include her husband of over 34 years, David Floyd Hopper of the home; three sons, David Lee Hopper and wife, Sherry of Morris, Steven Dean Hopper of Okmulgee and Kenny Floyd Hopper of Tulsa; four brothers, Dennis Melton and wife, Betty of Sand Springs, Danny Melton and wife, Susie of Beggs, Dickie Melton and wife, Nancy of Nuyaka and Butch Hanson and wife, Sherri of Kiefer; three grandchildren, Keaton Zachary, Miranda Wadsworth and Anndrea McCormack; six great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Highland Park Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Rick Randleman, Dustin Melton, Justin Melton, Stan Mitchell, Todd Hanson and Keaton Zachary.
