Reverend Earl Dean Scott

A funeral service honoring and remembering the life of Reverend Earl Dean Scott will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 2 PM at View Acres Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Yowell officiating.

Reverend Earl Dean Scott passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Earl Dean Scott was born October 10, 1932 in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Maudie Ellen (Hill) Scott and Carl D. Scott. During Earl's childhood the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attended Central High School and was a member of the 1950 graduating class. After high school Earl joined the United States Navy and served our country during the Korean War. While in the service, he was a Electricians Mate and a Honorary Chaplin.

While Earl was on leave from the Navy he met the love of his life, Minnie Morrison Scott. They were introduced by a mutual friend and met on a blind date. On May 19, 1956 Earl and Minnie got married at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

After he spent his time serving our country he attended Oklahoma Baptist University to receive his bachelor's degree and then went on to receive his Masters in Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

For 11 years, Earl served as the Minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK. He then went on to be the Pastor at First Baptist Church in Walters, OK. Earl also served as the Director of Craig-Mayes County Baptist Association.

In Earl's spare time he loved to paint and draw chalk art. He especially enjoyed drawing illustrations and cartoons for children. He always enjoyed going fishing, camping and playing golf. His grandchildren will always remember him playing cards and dominos. Earl was a great man who loved to serve the Lord and will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Morrison Scott and his parents, Maudie Ellen (Hill) Scott and Carl D. Scott.

Surviving are two sons, Brent Scott and his wife, Tymi and Mark Scott and his wife, Vicky; grandchildren, Lauren Scott, Austin McDonald-Scott, Aaron Scott, Jacob Scott, and Rachel Scott; and siblings, Travis Scott, Sue Freeman, Jean Yowell, and Dennis Scott.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Earl Dean Scott to Compel Outreach International, 403 S. Birmingham St. #B Wylie, TX 75098.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 5 PM to 8 PM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Interment will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
