Reed Thomas Melton

Reed Thomas Melton passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2022 at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Carol Melton; his son Tyler Melton and his daughter Emily Bolusky; their respective spouses, Tracy Blair and Richard Bolusky; and 4 grandchildren, Conley Bolusky, Sierra Melton, Campbell Bolusky, and Bryce Melton. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Birmingham.

Reed was born June 12th, 1945 in Mason City, Iowa to Ernest Harrison and Dorothy Winifred (Skewes) Melton. He grew up with three older siblings, Shannon Melton, Sharon Melton, and Sidney Melton. He graduated from Hale High School in 1963 and later from the University of Tulsa in 1968 with B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Applied Engineering Mathematics. On August 20, 1970, Reed married the love of his life Carol Williams in a sunrise ceremony on Turkey Mountain. Reed enjoyed a successful career in engineering which had him travel to many places around the world. He was also proud to serve on the University of Tulsa Chemical Engineering Advisory Board for many years.

Reed was an intelligent and open-minded man who loved food and loved his dogs. Most of all, Reed will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and poppy.
