Tonya Combs

Rebecca Tonya Annette Barless Combs, age 56 of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away on July 25, 2024. From Big Cabin, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Walt Barless and late Becky Barless.

Having served at several churches and other non-profit organizations, she was a spiritual leader and a light to those in her community. Most notably, Tonya's bright, witty, and fun-loving spirit touched the lives of many kids through children's ministry.

After graduating from Big Cabin High School in 1986, Tonya joined Christian Music Entertainment (CME) and travelled the country singing, dancing, and entertaining. Tonya then settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she began cutting hair. Eventually, Tonya opened her own salon which immediately became a place of endless laughter, therapy sessions, and of prayer.

While cutting hair for friends Barbie and Ken Harris (yes, that's their real names), the couple decided to introduce Tonya to their good friend Lance. After their first date at Arby's (which Tonya paid for), Lance knew he had found the one. On March 23, 1991 the couple tied the knot and began what would be a beautiful marriage. For 33 years, the couple enjoyed going to various shows together, long drives, spending time alone together, and even exercised compromise by spending part of the year watching hallmark movies and the other part watching OU football.

Tonya is survived by her father Walt Barless and step-mother Barbara; husband Lance Combs; sons, Dillon Combs and Chandler Combs and his wife Mikayla and granddaughter Ellie; brothers, Chris Barlass and wife Angella, Mark Barlass and wife Karen, and Brian Barlass and wife Valerie; sisters, Janece Russell and husband Eddie, and Wendy Wofford and husband Kevin; step-sisters Shelly Chisum and husband Craig and Pam Woods and husband Randy; Father and mother-in-law Rev. Calvin Combs and Bernice; sisters-in-law Denise Ward and husband Jeff and Bridgette Davis and husband Dolphin; brother-in-law Ronald Combs and wife Melissa. She is also survived by 36 nieces and nephews.

Needless to say, Tonya was loved abundantly and will be greatly missed by all that were blessed enough to have her in their life.

Viewing and visitation for Tonya will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033.

A funeral to honor Tonya's life will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033, with burial to follow at Bixby Cemetery.
