Ray Laverne Cadenhead

Ray Laverne Cadenhead passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born June 9, 1924 in Hamlin, Texas. She was the daughter of Ray and Pearl (Gray) Fry. Ray graduated from high school in Throckmorton, TX and earned her bachelor's degree from Texas State Teacher's College.

Ray married Lloyd L. Cadenhead September 10 1948. She worked in drafting while living in Dallas prior to getting married and raising her family. Ray loved fishing and gardening and she was a longstanding member of Memorial Baptist Church in Tulsa. Ray taught a Sunday School class for many years which she studied and prepared for diligently.

Ray was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Rigg (Martin) of Whitley Bay England; and her son Michael (Leslie) of Broken Arrow; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions to the Family Assistance Program at Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 7 at the funeral home and a funeral ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 8 at the Memorial Baptist Church, 2800 S. Yale in Tulsa. Rev. Marc Dreyer will be officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
