Randall Lanier Barron

Randall Lanier Barron, Sr., D.Ph. of Bixby Oklahoma died December 24, 2014 leaving a loving wife, Marvel Mullis Barron, three married children, Michele Barron (Dennis) Blackstad of Broken Arrow, Randall L. (Carolyn) Barron, Jr. of The Woodlands, Texas and David (Michele) Barron of Bixby and 10 grandchildren, Emily Savannah Blackstad, Timothy Floyd Blackstad, Benjamin Barron Blackstad, Joseph Dennis Blackstad, Katherine Macy Barron, Hannah Grace Barron, Randall (Lane) Barron III, Johnathan David Barron, Joshua Caleb Barron and Rebecca Elizabeth Barron. He is survived by two sisters and a brother, Patricia Barron (Stanley) Tomlinson of Monticello Georgia and Shirley Barron (Charles) Davis on Monroe Georgia and Graling Hiram (Susan) Barron of Jeffersonville Georgia. He was preceded in death by parents Hiram Tilman (Buddy) Barron and Louise Warren Barron Leggitt
Randall, a native of Georgia, received degrees from Dexter High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He and Marvel were the owners of a small chain of pharmacies, Randall’s Pharmacy Inc., Randall’s Home Health Supplies and Randall’s Driver Improvement Clinic in Middle Georgia and Barron’s Daylily Garden of Bixby Oklahoma.
Randall was a member of Rotary International, President of Lions Club, President of the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of three local churches while residing in Cochran Georgia.
Upon retirement and moving to Oklahoma he served as President of Broken Arrow Rotary Club, Assistant Governor and District Chairman of Rotary Organ Donor Awareness. He was a two time Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian of the Year.
Randall was appointed by Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry to the Organ Donor Awareness and Education Program Advisory Committee and continued to serve under Governor Mary Fallin as President
He is a member of the Oklahoma Pharmacist Association and served as President of the Tulsa chapter. He was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association.
Randall and his family are members of the Tulsa Garden Center and he served on the Board. He served on the Executive Board of the Tulsa Garden Center as Treasure.
Randall was a member of the Tulsa Area Daylily Society and served as President on two different occasions. As a member of the American Hemerocallis Society, he served as President of Region 11 (Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma). He was a Daylily Exhibition and Garden Judge. Randall and Marvel grew and showed daylilies winning many blue ribbons and 5 Best In Shows with their beautiful daylilies. Randall was a daylily hybridizer and developed many outstanding new daylilies bearing his name.
Randall and Marvel are members of Grace Church and the Overcomers Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers donations be made to Tulsa Area Daylily Society and Grace Church Overcomers Class
