Randall Lamont Stone age 69 passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at his residence in Bixby, Oklahoma. Randy was born October 31, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee to James and Ethel Mae (Gentry) Stone. In 1966 he graduated from Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Randy was a country boy at heart. He loved fishing, trapping and hunting. In fact, he named his oldest daughter, Hunter. He was a farmer for years raising cattle, horses and even bees on his farm in Gallatin, Tennessee. He loved all animals and was known to cuddle up with his dogs, even when they took up most of the room in the bed.
He was an accomplished musician and played a mean trumpet. He was a disc jockey for some 30 years beginning when he was just a teenager. He continued to DJ throughout his service with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and continued his career when he returned to the states. He loved all types of music and shared that love with his family and friends.
Randy was a professional actor in his thirties and was a member of SAG. He participated in several television specials, but enjoyed the stage most of all. He loved the freedom of flying, holding a commercial pilot license from his teenage years throughout his life.
He enjoyed horses, both showing them and breeding them. He was a lifetime member of AQHA. He and his wife, Melinda, along with his youngest daughter, Melodee, spent years traveling around the country, meeting people and participating in horse shows at every level. Later in life he became interested in pigeons, breeding them and racing them. He made a lot of good friends within the pigeon community. He looked forward to the weekly "pigeon breakfast." He was funny and could make anyone laugh with his unique sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Mae Stone, and his brother Anthony Stone.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Stone of Bixby, Oklahoma, his daughter, Hunter Stone of Knoxville, Tennessee, his daughter, Melodee Rinkel (and her husband Paul) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his grandchildren: Molly, James and Curtis Rinkel, his son, Christopher Magee (and his wife Honey) along with other family members and friends.
