Ramona Boyce

June 20, 1939 — November 30, 2024

Ramona Elaine Boyce, 85, passed away on November 30, 2024, after a courageous cancer journey. She was known for her unwavering love and dedication to her family and living out her steadfast faith in the Lord. She was married to Douglas George Boyce (preceded in death) for 65 years and was a devoted mother to Jennifer and Jodie (preceded in death). Ramona found immense joy in spending time with her four grandchildren Chad (Alexandra), David (Jennifer), Andrew (Bridget), Elizabeth (Devin), and her great-grandchildren Elijah, Jayden, Chad Douglas, John James, Jayden, Ilyanna, and Paxton.

Ramona was born the third of six children to Reverend Ezra and Cleo Hendley on June 20, 1939. She graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan, and later in life married the love of her life, Douglas Boyce. After raising their two daughters, Jennifer and Jodie, she went on to attend college at Oakland Community College, Oakland University, and received her master's in social work from the University of Michigan.

Ramona developed a love of music and the good news of God's love from her parents, and she eagerly shared this love with family, friends, and the community throughout her life. She sought opportunities to live out her faith by serving others, engaging in several Christian ministries, teaching and singing, volunteering in community food pantries and shelters, and as a clinical therapist.

She was active throughout her life, enjoying swimming, walking the beach, golfing with friends, and walking the trails both in nature and life. She was vivacious, creative, and diligent; her wisdom and love are missed by those who knew her.

A Service of Remembrance and Celebration is occurring at Cross Community Church of the Nazarene in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on December 14, 2024.

In place of flowers, donations can be sent to Carmel Friends Church (Food Pantry), 651 W Main St., Carmel, Indiana, 46032, in Ramona's memory.
