Paula Kathrina Johnson

Paula Kathrina Johnson, 83, of Tulsa, OK, passed away early Monday morning, October 23, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with family by her side.

Paula was born on October 17, 1934 and lived a full and rewarding life. She was born in San Antonio Texas and raised in Cushing, OK. In 1956 she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Journalism. While at OU she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and remained a lifelong supporter of both the University and the sorority.

Paula married David S. Love in Cushing, OK in 1956 and later, married Scott Johnson in 1972.

Paula’s interests included time devoted to becoming an accomplished cook and gardener, a passion for classic movies and mysteries, reading and volunteer work. She was a global traveler who relished history and local cultures worldwide. Saturday’s in the fall were always spent cheering on her beloved Sooner football.

She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, ordained as a Deacon in the 1983, she actively served in various organizations within the church; Sunday school teacher, Helping Hands Ministry, Meals on Wheels, Stephen’s Ministry and most recently member care phone ministry to name a few.

Paula was a very active member of PEO, holding several offices throughout the years. She was a working member of the Tulsa Garden Club where she held multiple offices and served as a Docent. Paula enjoyed memberships in multiple Book Clubs throughout the years, Delta Delta Delta alumni association, Tri-Psi Sorority, antique club, china painting and her adored bridge groups.

After the death of her husband, Paula maintained a successful catering business for over 30 years in the Tulsa area.

Paula leaves many loving memories with her family,
two daughters, Lauren Love and partner Dr. Emma Linn and Dacia Bird and husband Clay; sister, Shirley Ann Letson and husband Dr. Robert Letson; grandchildren, Erin, Olivia, Isabella, & Jack Bird.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Katherine Hargraves, and husband, Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, OK, with Dr. James D. Miller officiating.
