Patty Jo Austin

October 5, 1947 — December 11, 2020

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patty Jo Austin, at the age of 73 years old, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Patty, the oldest of five children, was born on October 5, 1947, Muskogee, Oklahoma to C.L. (Jack) and Ruby (Pardue) Beshears. As a young child, Patty and her family moved to Texas and she received her schooling in McLean, Texas. Patty's greatest love was for her two children, Tammy and Robert. She spent many years as a single mom and worked tirelessly as a waitress to selfishly raise and give her children all he could.

Later in life, Patty met Bobby Austin, the man she was destined to meet, while working in Liberal, Kansas. Not long after they married, it was discovered Bob would need a kidney transplant and Patty immediately asked to be tested and was found to be a perfect march. Following the surgery, Patty and Bob made their home in Liberal, Kansas.
Patty went to work as certified nursing assistant and medication aide at Liberal Good Samaritan Society Nursing Center. This was a very rewarding career choice for Patty and she often talked of her love for her coworkers and all of the residents at the center that she grew to know and love deeply. Patty later retired from her job and she and Bob spent many years together at their home in Liberal, Kansas enjoying each other's company in retirement.

On November, 8, 2018, Bobby went home to heaven and Patty's kids decided it was their turn to take care of their mother. Following Bobby's service, Patty's son Robert and his wife Tamra, welcomed her into their home where she stayed for several months before relocating to Tulsa, Oklahoma to live with her daughter Tammy. Patty loved being with her kids and passed her time watching the Hallmark channel day and night. During this time with her children the roles were reversed and she got to be served instead of being the servant. She was quite content being "pampered".

Patty was a very special lady and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her daughter Tammy Hall of Tulsa, Oklahoma and son Robert and his wife Tamra Hall of Perryton, Texas, and a bonus son, Steve and his wife Vicki Austin of Liberal, Kansas. Patty was blessed by several grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Grandma Patty leaves her grandchildren, Devin and husband Jason Parker Reed, of Tulsa, Dustin and wife Anne Parker of Claremore, Oklahoma, Amber and husband Josh Lorenzen of Kinsley, Kansas, Kolby and wife Sadie Hall of Kress, Texas, Skyler Hall of Perryton; Sasha and husband Jake Arganbright of Liberal, Kansas, and Seth and wife Arlette Austin of Liberal, Kansas as well. Gigi also leaves her great grandchildren Camerin, Nevaeh, Tristin, and Faith Parker, Laney Lorenzen, Addie and Azzie Arganbright and Brayden and Gabby Austin.

Patty leaved behind her daughter, Connie Reeves of Wheeler, Texas, brother Jack and wife Jody of Big Spring, Texas, sister Brenda Essen of North Zulch, Texas, sister Kathy and husband Benny West of Slick, Oklahoma, and sister Jerrilene and husband Elby Kennedy of St. Charles, Missouri. She will also be missed by many nieces, and nephews and cousins.
