Patsy “Pat” Carol (Goodin) Parscal passed away in her home due to complications from diabetes on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at age of 70. Patsy was born on the family ranch in Irwin, NE on August 26, 1940, the eldest child of Elmer “Tug” Clay Goodin and Wilma Catherine Chicken. Patsy grew up around Valentine, Nebraska before the family moved to Okmulgee in 1953. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1958. She attended nursing school at Hillcrest in Tulsa. She was a nurse for many years for the late Dr. Mayben. She retired from OSU, Okmulgee after working there for over 20 years. Patsy was very active in community projects. One of her favorites was helping with the numerous fundraisers for The Unity Club. She was the voice of Skinny Minny, the talking female skeleton that greeted visitors at the beginning of the trail for 15 years in the annual fall fundraiser, The Terror in the Timbers. She was also active on the Substance Abuse Prevention Committee through Okmulgee County Wellness Coalition and Okmulgee County Consortium working to keep tobacco, drugs and alcohol out of reach of minors. Patsy was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her husband, Barry Parscal of the home. Daughter, Brenda Campbell of Okmulgee; son, Cris Campbell & wife, Lydia of Morris; daughter, Danielle (Parscal) and son-in-law, Andrew Bowser of Fair Grove, MO; grandchildren, Cody Campbell of Spoken Valley, WA; Amanda and Colin Campbell of Morris; Eddie, Malakai, Kevin and Andrew Bowser of Fair Grove, MO; brothers, Reverend William Goodin and wife, Linda of Grand Coulee, WA and Keith Goodin and wife, Miriam of Checotah; sister-in-law, Sherrilee Goodin of Edmond; brothers-in-law, Don Parscal and wife, Jeannie of Leon, KS and Charlie Parscal of FL; sisters-in-law, Stacey King of Shawnee and Laurie Mellinger of Norman. Patsy also left behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Celebration of Life-Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at The Unity Club, 1201 N. Griffin in Okmulgee for all her friends,family and classmates. In lieu of flowers, Patsy requested that donations be made under her name to The Unity Club, PO Box 1564, Okmulgee, Ok 74447, to help continue to keep the doors open to recovering persons.
