Patricia May King

August 30, 1932 — October 28, 2020

Patricia May King of Okmulgee, Oklahoma was born to parents, Laurence and Ida (Faught) Martin on August 30, 1932 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at the age of 88.

Patricia attended school from first through twelfth grade at Wilson schools. She loved to play ball in school. Basketball was her favorite she said, she even held a record for the most points in one game: 33 points. She also played catcher in softball. She attended college in Tulsa at Drons Business School. Her first part time job was in Tulsa working for a couple lawyers. Then she started working full time as a secretary/notary in Okemah for a lawyer named Dwight Tolle.

Patricia soon after met her husband to be, Don Frank, at a café/bar called the Sledge House in Henryetta. She had taken her father there to have his usual drink and Frank had taken his dad there also. “Oh, he was a good-looking guy” she said with a smile. Soon after, she went and left a note for her boss giving her notice, then she and Frank went to Las Vegas and got married, it was July 13th, 1951 she was 19. After, they headed to Whittier California to live, where Frank was from. Patricia had her first child at 21. While in California she worked for two banks. She also worked at Wittier College. At age 68 Patricia quit working; it was a year after her youngest son passed away. In 2000, she moved back to Oklahoma. One thing that Patricia was most proud of in life were her children. She was very thankful for the life she was given and while having God there with her every step of the way.

She is preceded in death by parents Laurence and Ida Martin, husband Don Frank King and Don Frank King Jr.

Patricia leaves many loving memories with her family including son Robert King and daughter Judy Larney both of Morris, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held at Bended Knee Cowboy Church in Boynton, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM.
