Pamela Jane Edge Ellington passed away Wednesday, August 16th 2017 at 2:15 pm surrounded by her family. Born to Florence and Charles Higgins on February 29th 1952 in Tulsa, OK, Pam was the youngest of four children. Charles (Tad) Higgins, Alan (Spud) Higgins, and Sue Ahrendt. She graduated from Charles Page High School and went on to receive her Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University.
Pam worked for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma for the past 27 years. Known as Baja to many she had a love for camping and shared that with many girls through the years. She had a “freeze fire” look that you could receive when not following scouting, or common sense rules. She married the love of her life Steven Ellington on May 3rd 2008. Pam's capacity for love was amazing. She had one daughter, Amanda Dawes, and six grandchildren, Stephanie and Melanie Edge, Makayla, Trace, Tanner and Audrey Dawes.
Pam enjoyed teaching people life lessons like why one should follow the rules, or “if you cannot say it to everyone don't say it to anyone”, and “put your big girl panties on and deal with it”. She touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Girls Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma 918-745-5204, 4810 South 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74134. There will be a celebration of life, followed by a pot luck meal, and a bonfire Saturday August 26th at 2 pm at Tallchief camp, located on Zink Ranch. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care Center. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
