Ola Marie Howard

Ola Marie Berryhill Howard was born to Josh Robert Berryhill and Anna Pearl Easley Berryhill on August 3, 1914 in Palestine, Texas. She entered into glory January 13,2013 She married Joseph Carl Howard on July 19, 1931 in Maysville, Oklahoma. They enjoyed Dairying, farming and ranching in the Morris, Oklahoma area for many years. Ola was a member of the Home Demonstration Club for over 60 years serving in many offices. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and several different forms of needlework. Ola was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morris and served the Lord by teaching and being the superintendent of the young people’s dept. She loved to travel and visited all of the 50 states also Canada, Mexico, Israel and Germany. She moved to Okmulgee Baptist village in 1995 and attended the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee for several years. In 2000 she moved to Lake Eufaula near her daughter and son-in-law giving her the ability to do what she loved most, fishing. Ola moved her Church membership to Brush Hill Baptist Church and loved Church and her Sunday school class which was taught by Pat Jacobs and enjoyed many happy times with them. Ola was very competive in all she did whether it was fishing or playing dominoes. Many fish stories were told. Ola spent her last year in this world at the Sand Plum Retirement Center near Bixby, Oklahoma where her daughters Ann and Patti along with their husbands and granddaughters Sherry and Janet spent many hours visiting and caring for her. She was visited there by many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Carl Howard in 1994, her parents Josh and Anna Berryhill, her brother William Robert Berryhill and her sisters; Eula Mae Berryhill DeShazo, Edith Margaret Berryhill Price, Lola Lorene Berryhill Bailey, Lula Lugene Berryhill Dobrava, Helen Lenora Berryhill Lanier and her great grandson Jeremey McKeen. She is survived by her daughters Anna Marie Howard Davis & husband Jim Davis on Lake Eufaula, Carolene Sue Howard Walters of Edmond and Patricia Elaine Howard Morast & husband Glenn Morast of Tulsa. Her sisters Fay Day, Betty Kingsbury, Laveda Kelly and Katherine Josephine Gottman. 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, 29 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Viewing will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shurden - Jackson Funeral home in Okmulgee, family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial services will be at Brush Hill Baptist Church on Jan 18 at 11:00 AM, Graveside services will be at Okmulgee Cemetery at 2:00 PM In lieu of flowers make a memorial contributions to Brush Hill Baptist Church.
