Norman Lee Manning, Jr. was born November 22, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Elizabeth and Norman Manning. He met Jesus Friday September 14, 2012 at the age of 62 years. He leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Lillian Fixico-Manning at home. Preceded in death: parents, Elizabeth and Norman Manning; one brother, Larry Manning and one sister, Tammy Manning. Survivors include one son, Matthew and Stacey Manning of Michigan; two step-sons, Robby and Kristi Fixico of Midwest City and JR and Jill Alberts also of Midwest City and two step-daughters, Tammy and Tony Giles of Norman and Brooki Beasley and Shaun Lytle of Arizona. He has 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He has one brother, Terry Manning and one sister, Lynn Rollett, both of Michigan. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Norm served in the U.S. Navy in the earlier years of his life. He was a plumber, pipe-fitter and welder for over 35 years. He’s been on every major refinery in the United States. His job gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the county and this allowed him to make life-long friends. He enjoyed NASCAR race cars, fishing and cooking. He was a man of many trades; there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do around the house, from plumbing, electrical to mechanical work. He enjoyed spending time with family and scaring his grand-kids. He also enjoyed listening to country music. We would like to thank all his life-time friends for the support of everything they have done (whether it was prayers, phone calls or visiting). He really enjoyed sitting and talking with his son-in-law, Tony Giles. This will be greatly missed. Also we want to thank the family for being there for him through-out his long, hard fought battle with his illness. Ety and Norm are both very appreciative of all the kind and thoughtful gestures everyone has given them over the years. Norm would want Ety to thank the family for coming together at this tough time and for the family and friends who have traveled from short and long distances. This would have meant a lot to him.
