Norma Jean (Main) Holdren age 82 passed away Tuesday, July 21,2015 at her Glenpool, Oklahoma residence.
Norma was born June 21, 1933 in Newton, Iowa to Orin A. Main and Ollie L. (Spain) Main. She married Dennis E. Holdren in 1954.
Norma grew up on a farm south of Newton, Iowa. While living and growing up on the farm, she attended a one-room school house. Later on when her family moved into town she attended grade school, junior high school and graduated from Newton High School in 1951. Some of her jobs growing up were with Maytag where she was a secretary for the Industrial Engineering Department. While living in St. Louis she worked for Willingham Construction Company and later on she worked for Webster College in the Maintenance Department. Before retiring she worked as a purchasing agent for BS&B.
She was active in Eastern Star - Chapter 414, she served as Secretary of Jobs Daughters, she served as Deacon of 1st Presbyterian Church and helped in the soup kitchen. She attends First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Norma was preceded in death by parents: Ollie and Orin Main, her brother, Vernon W. Main and her loving husband, Dennis Holdren.
She is survived by her children: Arnold M. Holdren, Joyce L. Holdren Gindhart and her husband Robert , Steven R. Holdren, Kimberley S. Robinson and her husband Keith , her sister, Maribelle Hesson, her grandchildren: Joyce E. Umphress, Christian P. Umphress, Marrissa Holdren, Katrina Holdren, Dennis J. Czeschin, Kyle F. Czeschin, Brandi Holdren, Michelle Holdren, Stacy Holdren, her great grandchildren: Cooper Czeschin, David Umphress, Nathan Umphress, Ellie Umphress, and Ephraim Umphress.
Visitation is Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa. Reverend Lynn Simpson will officiate.
Interment will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery, Owensville, Missouri.
