Norma Jean Fowler, a resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born September 1, 1924 to John Edwin and Anna Jane (Garrison) Nichols in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the Elks Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edwin Nichols and Anna Jane McDonald-Stinson; her first husband, William Tatro, Sr. and her second husband, George Fowler, Sr. Survivors include her two daughters, Norma Jane Williamson and husband, Roy of Henryetta and Mary Hendrickson and husband, John of Sapulpa;step-son, William Tatro, Jr. of Illinois; step-daughter, Glenna Ann Garrison of Missouri; two sisters, Cordy Garner and husband, Raymond and LaDonna Jordan and husband, Albert, all of Illinois; six grandchildren, Brian Hendrickson, Glenn Hendrickson, Amanda Hendrickson Gartrell, Coweta Morris, Judy Douglas and Jerry Williamson; ten great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren and four great- great-great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend A.J. Tiger officiating. Services are under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
