Nora Rendon Carrasco

June 6, 1939 — May 18, 2020

With profound sadness, we announce the death of Nora,”Norita” Carrasco who passed away peacefully on May 18th, with her family by her side. Nora was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Nora was born on June 6th, 1939 in Seragosa, Texas. She married her longtime friend and love, Phil Carrasco, on December 12th, 1956.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Nora is survived by her devoted husband, Phil, 3 daughters and their husbands, Elsie and Shane, Cindy and Greg and Julie and Herb. Nora had 7 grandchildren who loved her dearly, Marina and her husband, Jeff, Jeremy, Elyse, Joshua, Austin, Eric and 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tanner and Alexandra

Nora was a dedicated mother and wife first and foremost. She treasured her husband, children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She instilled strong values and always wanted us to look at the “bright side” of life and what blessings we had. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.

Nora had a successful career as a retiree from UPS, where everyone loved and admired her work ethic, which she instilled in all of her children. She loved to spend time with her family, play her guitar and sing, especially with her brothers, dance and act silly and was known to enjoy an occasional margarita!

Our mother was a devoted Catholic, who loved the Lord fiercely. She not only talked the talk, she walked it. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She was a class act. We will miss her dearly but take peace and comfort in that fact that she is in heaven with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

A Rosary will be 7:00PM Thursday, May 21st and Funeral Mass will be 12:00PM Friday, May 22nd both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family wished to express their sincere appreciation for the sympathy, comforting words, prayers and all expressions of kindness and concern. May God continue to bless you.
