Nora Marie Watkins, 85, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at her residence in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Mrs. Watkins was born in Arthur, Oklahoma to Gabe Doss and Marietta Skinner on March 11, 1919. She attended Broken Arrow schools and then met the love of her life, Edmon Watkins; they married in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1939. Nora and her husband have resided in Glenpool, Oklahoma since 1982.
Mrs. Watkins was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. When her daughters were in school she was active in their school's PTA associations; was a Brownie and a Girl Scout Leader and belonged to Airport Free Will Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by both parents: Gabe Doss and Marietta Skinner. She is survived by her husband: Edmon Watkins of Glenpool, Oklahoma; daughters: Dorothy Johnson of Afton, Oklahoma; Lavada Thompson and her husband, John, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mary Housdan and her husband, Frank, Tulsa, Oklahoma and her sister, Virginia Simpson of California, MO plus 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel with the Reverend Brett Allen officiating. Committal with be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma immediately following funeral service.
