Nicholas James Newlin

Nick was born July 29, 1983 in Iowa City, Iowa to parents Deanna Rios Newlin and James Thomas Newlin. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1993.

Nick attended Bishop Kelly High School where he found his love for basketball and played all through his high school years. He started his career working for his stepfather, Rik Bartley at Bartley Construction and worked there for many years until his passing on January 9, 2022. Nick was a very kind hearted person and the most important thing to him was spending times with his kids. He was married to Jessica Chastain and together they have two beautiful children daughter, Hadley Newlin and son, Bodhi Newlin.

Nick is survived by his wife Jessica Chastain, his daughter Hadley Newlin and son Bodhi Newlin, his father Jim Newlin and stepmother Leisa Newlin, sister Ashley Newlin and stepfather Rik Bartley, his nieces Kaylee Newlin, Kylee Newlin and Abby Berbee. Nick is preceded in death by his Mother, DeeAnna Rios Newlin.

Nick will be laid to rest next to his Mother this spring in Iowa. The graveside service will be announced at a later date. Thank you to all of our family and friends for your support and words of comfort during this difficult time.
