Nathalie Marsalas Logsdon Lester was born July 1, 1964 in Norman, Oklahoma to Guy and Phyllis Logsdon. She was the youngest of their four daughters. Nathalie was proud of being the namesake of family friend Nathalie Pyle from Payson, Arizona affectionately referred to as Aunt Nan and her paternal grandmother Mattie Marsalas Logsdon.
By the age of 3-years-old the family had moved to Tulsa where she lived until graduating from Edison High School. A lifetime Logsdon family tradition is to move back and forth from Oklahoma to Arizona. So it came as no surprise when Nathalie moved to Phoenix where she lived for the next 10 years. It was there she met and married Scott Lester who preceded her in death. They had two children, Samantha Marsalas and Dylan Andrew.
The family returned to Tulsa in 1993. Over the years one of Nathalie's favorite jobs was working at the 50s retro Metro Diner where co-workers and customers were like family. She was employed there until it closed. For the last four years Nathalie worked for PetSmart. She loved being with the animals and was known for her enthusiastic customer service. At home, she was the proud caretaker of 3 bearded dragons, 2 parakeets, 5 cats, a hamster and numerous fish.
Nathalie was extremely proud of both of her children and the fine adults they have become. Her most recent thrill was being a grandmother to Dylan's daughter Sophia Grace. "Meme" loved taking Sophia to the park, holding her on her lap and reading together. She lived life on her own terms. In addition to animals she loved rock and roll, riding motorcycles and practical jokes.
She is survived by her children Samantha and Dylan and granddaughter Sophia; her parents Guy and Phyllis Logsdon, sisters Tamara Hawkinson and Jim, Cindy Black and Baxter, Susan Patterson and Bill; plus seven nieces and nephews and their families.
Nathalie died Saturday, June 27 at home. She was in a positive and peaceful place, enjoying her life. Her raucous laugh and unique sense of humor will be missed.
