Nancy Kay Atnip

A memorial service remembering and honoring the life of Nancy Kay (Grimm) Atnip will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1 PM at Gods Shining Light Church. Nancy passed away Monday evening, September 17, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was 86.

Nancy was born on March 10, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Minnie (Scott) Grimm and Homer Grimm.

On December 24, 1965 she married the love of her life, Donald Roy Atnip in Durant, Oklahoma.

Nancy enjoyed a simple life, loving the country and driving on back roads. She spent a lot of her time at flea markets and spending time with her family. Nancy collected dolls that were displayed throughout her home and was a romance novel enthusiast. She was always dressed to impress with her long painted nails, make-up and jewelry.

Nancy had a free spirit personality who loved to have fun. Her good sense of humor came in handy when her children would often play jokes on her. They knew their mother was gentle but she could be tough. Nancy had a good heart and shared her love with many people. She will be greatly missed.

Nancy was a member at God Shining Light Church, Tulsa, OK where she and her family would attended and always followed by going out for breakfast.

She is preceded in death by son, Bunny Atnip; daughter Tammy Foster and her parents, Minnie (Scott) Grimm and Homer Grimm.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Atnip; four daughters, Terrie Dean, Donna Atnip, Nancy Murphy and her husband, Russel, and Shannon Atnip; five sons, Clay Skyles, Jerry Skyles, Mike Atnip, Carl Atnip and his wife, Kim and Don Atnip Jr. and his wife, Laura. She also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her beloved dogs, Frank and Jesse.
