Nancy Evelyn Boelzner

October 18, 1930 — September 14, 2024

Nancy Evelyn Boelzner, born October 18, 1930, in Sumter, South Carolina, to Nathaniel and Rose (Gladden) Stephenson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ernest Boelzner, Jr.; and her daughter, Robin Marie Shick. She is survived by her loving children, David Boelzner (Ann) of Tulsa, OK, Eric Charles Boelzner of Little Rock, AR, Stephen Alan Boelzner (Kimberly) of Melbourne, FL. and son-in-law, Rev. Kenneth D. Shick of Tampa, FL. Her cherished legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathan, and Spencer Shick; Katie Griffin; Michele and Lindsey Boelzner; and Thomas and Rebecca Boelzner, as well as her seven great-grandchildren.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Nancy dedicated her life to her family, raising four children, with the oldest and youngest being 17 years apart. She balanced motherhood with compassion and care, particularly in her later years when she cared for her mother and her husband as he battled Parkinson's disease.

Nancy's love for music was a central part of her life, ensuring that all of her children took music lessons, a passion that lives on in them. Her dedication to education extended beyond her family, as she volunteered her time teaching adult literacy, helping others gain the gift of reading.

Having made Florida her home since 1960, Nancy developed a deep affection for the Sunshine State, where she lived for over six decades. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her, and her legacy of love, music, and dedication to family will endure.
