Myrna Lee Dahlstrom

January 6, 1928 — February 8, 2022

Myrna was born January 6, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas to William Everett Barnes and Lena Belle Gruver Barnes. She passed away at Trinity Woods Health Center (formerly Oklahoma Methodist Manor) on February 8, 2022. She attended schools in Wichita, KS, St. Louis, MO, Enid, OK, and graduated from Central High School, in Tulsa, OK in 1945.

Myrna attended Nursing School at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1948. She finished her education by returning to Stephens College in Columbia, MO and received her Bachelor's in Health Sciences in 1980.

Myrna spent her entire career caring for others, especially the students and faculties of many of the Tulsa Public Schools - retiring in 1986. She also volunteered for many years with the Advisory Committee of the Tulsa County Welfare Unit, the Red Cross Disaster Group and the Neighbor for Neighbor Medical Clinic.

Myrna was predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, James W. and Stanley L. Barnes, her former husband, Raynold M. Dahlstrom, her daughter, Janet Lynn Dahlstrom Blackwood and her granddaughter, Stacye Elizabeth Koch York. She is survived by her sister, Nancy L. Barnes Hamilton, her brother, William M. Barnes (Susan), her daughter, Johanna Elizabeth Dahlstrom Ezarik (Alan), her grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Koch (Jennifer), Snow Marta Blackwood, Magnolia Dahlstrom Blackwood and Zachariah Z. Blackwood. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine Bradley, Tessa Elizabeth York, Athena Blackwood, Shiloh Blackwood, Lyric Almaguer, Lucy Elizabeth Koch and Henry William Koch. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her dear friend and companion, Ann W. Lackey.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Myrna's honor to the Women in Recovery - Family and Children Services (fcsok.org) or the St. Francis Hospice in Tulsa.

The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation for all the caregivers from My Choice, First Call and the St. Francis Hospice. Special gratitude goes to caregiver and loyal friend, Marquetta Turner for all the loving care and friendship over the last few years.

A private Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
