Mulsey Long passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 in Muskogee at the age of 87. She was born September 14, 1924 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Miller and Nancy (Lowe) Tarpalechee. She married Reverend Harry Lee Long on May 10, 1947 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. They had six children: Larry Long (deceased), Beverly (sister) Long, Stephen (Wotko) Long, both of Muskogee, OK, Taylor (Bug) Long of Casa Grande, AZ, Gary Long and Joann Miles-Long of San Carlos, AZ and Starr Long of Muskogee, OK. Mulsey had nine grandchildren: Richard of Maricopa, AZ, Georgina (deceased), Cheryl of Shawnee, OK, Terra (Oske) of Noble, OK, Bobbie (Osah) of Oklahoma City, Tvstenvggi of Shawnee, OK, Sarv and Nokose, both of Carson City, NV and Gabriel of Casa Grande, AZ. Mulsey also had seven great-grandchildren: Monique, Mia, Espoke, Rayne Miske, Kash Lupkee, Kaiya Emkv and Echo Cufe, as well as numerous “grand dogs.” Mulsey Long worked in the dry cleaning business until retiring. Mulsey loved singing Muscogee Creek songs, planting gardens, working in the yard and fishing. She was also an avid sports fan and loved the OKC Thunder. Mulsey Long was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Harry Long; son, Larry Long and granddaughter, Georgina Kay Long. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Wake Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. with Reverend David Long officiating, both will be held at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Big Cussetah United Methodist Church with Newman Frank, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Big Cussetah Indian Cemetery with Reverend David Long officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Tarpalechee, Richard Long, Terra (Oske) Long, Bobbie (Osah) Long, Jason Jones, Monique Long, Mia Long, Espoke Long and Anthony Tarpalechee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen (Wotko) Long, Taylor Long, Gary Long, Kash Lupkee Rakosky, Yarme Tarpalechee, Glenn Jones, Floyd Jones, Nokose Long and Landon Rakosky.
