Mimi Halim Abufadil passed away March 6, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mimi lived for her family. She devoted her life to her husband and children and the wonderful Tulsa community that she considered family. She came with her two young children and her husband out of necessity in the 1970's and made Tulsa her home. Not knowing what would come and not having any experience, Mimi delved into the restaurant business with her husband, Halim, and a bit of faith. This turned out to be a blessing and gave her purpose and fulfillment. She worked tirelessly but never showed how difficult a job it was because the family and friends she was surrounded with kept her invigorated, happy and alive. She was always grateful for what she was given and reflected often on those that brought her joy.
From her children, she kept the burdens of life well hidden (among other secrets). It was not until much later that we recognized just how blessed and sheltered we were. She was our rose-colored glasses. Life would have been much harder without her ever constant presence.
Beyond the day to day, she enjoyed many trips and travels; we are grateful for those times and memories together. In her retirement, Mimi and her husband continued their world travels, but that time was short, as Halim fell ill. She spent her remaining time in retirement with her husband until he passed in 2018. Shortly thereafter, she moved to her son Mazen's home, where she lived her remaining years. Always surrounded by her grandchildren as they grew, she had a full life, and she filled the lives of others.
We are forever indebted.
