Mildred Marie Martin

Mildred Marie (May) Martin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 98.

Mildred was born on October 11, 1920 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Georgie (Compston) May and Toby May.

She was a 1938 graduate from Neosha high School, Neosha, Missouri.

On July 1, 1946, Mildred married the love of her life, Ernest Wayne Martin in Pittsburg, Kansas. They spent over 60 years together.

She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mildred had talented hands and expressed it through her quilting abilities and the enjoyment she found in painting china. She also enjoyed traveling. Mildred was always friendly with others but was known to be quiet and reserved.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wayne Martin; son, Jerry Martin and her parents, Georgia (Compston) May and Toby May.

Survivors include one son, Robert Martin and his wife, Teri and four grandchildren, John, Maggie, Scott and Beth.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
