Mildred Jane Baker, age 91 passed away on August 13, 2016 at Grace Living Center in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Mildred was born on March 20, 1925 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Floyd and Jessie (Parker) Tinkle. She played high school basketball for Bixby High School and was a graduate with the class of 1943. After high school, she took some college courses. She married Martin Albert Baker Jr. on February 27th, 1943 and together had two sons. Mildred worked as a secretary in the oil and gas industry at Seismograph for 15 years. Her hobbies and interests included, playing the piano, traveling, bowling, square dancing, and reading the Bible cover to cover seven times. She was a charter member of Riverview Baptist Church and most recently, a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma.
She is survived by: sons, Martin A. Baker III and his wife Deborea, Ronald G. Baker and his wife Patsy, grandchildren, Rhonda Player and her husband Michael, Pat Baker and his wife Linda, Eddie Sloan and his wife Shawn, Will Heffernan and his wife Chrisan, great-grandchildren, Stephine Hudson, Joshua Hardin, Danielle Hamsley, Joshua Sloan, Nan Baker, Emma Baker, Morgan Heffernan, Henry Heffernan, great-great grandchildren, Nathan Hamsley, Christian Hardin, Alayna Hudson, Caleb Hudson, and many other loving friends and acquaintances.
Graveside Service will be 10:00a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Bixby Cemetery, 151st. and Sheridan, Bixby, OK. 74008.
